CAMBRAKE LTD.InterfaceA vital part of any safety system is the interface between the external equipment and the final drive to the machine. Cambrake manufacture a range of interface products that ensure the correct functioning of the light curtain and the sequence of the machine operation. External limit switches, footswitch and selector switches are fed into the control circuit ensuring that the machine will only operate when the external components are in the safe state. The interface also allows the curtain to be muted (i.e. taken out of circuit). This function should only be used when the gap above the workpiece is very small (6mm). During each complete cycle of the machine checks are made on the external equipment, with the curtain being put into check mode. If the curtain fails this check the interface will not allow another dangerous motion to be initiated. When the interface is supplied for a flywheel operated machine it is necessary to fit a cambox to enable the interface circuit to monitor the rotary operation of the machine. On hydraulic machines the interface includes a short stroke facility, as standard, which enables the machine to be used continuously in the muted area of the stroke. All interfaces are fitted with a 440v to 110v isolating transformer allowing the interface to be used in any factory with a 3-phase supply.
